This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assists the Case Management Modernization (CMM) Program for the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts by linking design with engineering.
• Responsible for integrating UX research with high-fidelity prototypes to create intuitive, accessible, and efficient user experiences.
• Develop clean, production-ready code.
• Collaborate within Agile teams alongside developers, architects, and product owners.
• Ensures that all CMM applications are centered around user needs, comply with Section 508, and adhere to federal digital service standards for accessibility, performance, and security.
• Work with Product Owners, UI Architects, Developers, and HCD Specialists to convert research insights into actionable design specifications.
• Serve as the conduit between design and engineering to transform prototypes into responsive, accessible, and high-performing front-end code.
• Establish and uphold UI/UX and front-end coding standards to guarantee consistency and reusability.
• Assess designs for compliance with Section 508, usability, and WCAG accessibility guidelines.
• Facilitate iterative feedback through rapid prototyping and validation during sprint cycles.
• Offer guidance and recommendations on UI consistency, interaction design, and design system reuse.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Compliance teams to ensure usability and accessibility in production releases.
• Over 9 years of relevant experience.
• Proficient in usability testing methodologies such as heuristic evaluations, card sorting, and A/B testing.
• Skilled in design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Storybook, Axure, Miro, or similar tools).
• Knowledgeable in HTML5, CSS3, and responsive UI behavior.
• Strong experience with Sass or other CSS preprocessors.
• Background in designing for federal systems, with practical knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG compliance.
• Exceptional storytelling and communication skills to articulate design and development rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Design, or a related field.
• Preferred certifications: Certified Usability Analyst (CUA), Certified HCD Professional, SAFe Agile Practitioner (SPC or SSM), Section 508 Trusted Tester Certification, UX Design or HCD Certification.
