This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Take ownership of the UI/UX vision for Marathon, effectively driving and communicating it based on creative and production priorities.
• Ensure the highest standards of UI/UX quality, design craftsmanship, and consistency, while holding UI/UX teams accountable for meeting the established vision and objectives.
• Prioritize the UI/UX backlog, deconstructing UI/UX challenges for the UI/UX Leads to manage and updating other leaders on progress.
• Foster alignment within the Director leadership group regarding UI/UX goals, constraints, and implementation strategies.
• Collaborate with the Executive Producer to ensure teams have the appropriate resources aligned with the size and shape of objectives, including strategies for utilizing external development.
• Develop and advocate for best practices in the UI/UX process.
• Engage in collaborative creative problem-solving for product-wide challenges that extend beyond UI/UX.
• Partner with the Executive Producer and Engineering Director to address the goals and requirements for UI Technical Design, Visual Design, and UI/UX tools and workflows.
• Proven experience as a UI/UX Director responsible for developing and implementing the UI/UX vision for large-scale, multiplatform, live-service competitive FPS games.
• Ability to creatively align and collaborate with other director-level discipline leaders to define and dissect problem spaces.
• Experience leading UI/UX teams in formulating philosophy, processes, capabilities, and execution.
• In-depth experience with the philosophy, process, design, documentation, and workflows of UI/UX systems.
• Expertise in guiding UI/UX teams to translate ambiguous problem spaces into clear goals, strategies, and tactics with measurable hypotheses and tracking metrics.
• Define what successful UI/UX collaboration and integration entails with other disciplines, including User Research.
• Manage the UI/UX discipline, which includes defining roles, performance expectations, overseeing the hiring process, and building a highly effective team.
• Extensive demonstrated ability to work independently, driving tasks to completion efficiently and reliably.
• Proactive in making design decisions and solving issues with a focus on the broader impact on the overall project.
