This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Upswing's tutoring approach emphasizes the significance of encouraging student independence.

• Candidates should be familiar with the Socratic method of tutoring and have a passion for helping students enhance their critical thinking abilities.

• Online sessions are conducted in Upswing's virtual classroom, which includes video, audio, chatbox, and a whiteboard feature.

• Work hours with Upswing are flexible, based on your availability and student demand.

• The ideal applicant should be available to tutor from Sunday to Thursday, between 6 PM - 10 PM CST / 5 PM - 9 PM EST.

• The onboarding process (unpaid) lasts between 60 to 120 minutes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess subject matter expertise or advanced knowledge acquired through an undergraduate or graduate degree, or relevant professional experience in the subject area.

• Access to reliable high-speed Internet, a quiet environment free from distractions for conducting tutorials, and a dependable laptop or desktop equipped with a camera and microphone is essential.

• Must have achieved excellent academic performance in undergraduate or graduate studies.

• A passion for teaching and assisting individuals in resolving challenges, along with a strong desire to help others achieve their goals, is required.

• Availability to tutor a minimum of 2-5 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters is necessary.

• Prior experience in teaching methodologies, instruction, or tutoring at the college level, such as in a math or learning lab or writing center, is highly desirable.

• Must be responsive to session requests.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required.
