This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.
• Ensure the safe and effective operation of the vessel and its support equipment.
• Enforce the company's safety and environmental policies.
• Inspire the crew to adhere to safety protocols.
• Provide clear and precise instructions.
• Evaluate safety measures and pollution prevention practices.
• Report any defects and safety concerns to the company.
• Oversee the training requirements on board.
• Keep safety information readily available for the crew.
• Assess and update on-board contingency plans and procedures.
• Document non-conformities and hazardous conditions.
• Supply scheduling information for employees.
• Manage the vessel's budget to ensure cost efficiency.
• Complete necessary log entries and maintain radio monitoring.
• Assign tasks and provide direction to the mate and/or lead deckhand.
• Must possess experience as a U.S.C.G. MOTV licensed Captain with towing and endorsements for Western Rivers, Oceans, and/or Near Coastal waters.
• A valid TWIC is required (receipts are NOT accepted).
• A valid driver's license is necessary.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions is essential.
• Must be capable of carrying, pushing/pulling, and/or lifting materials weighing over 75lbs.
• Must meet USCG physical examination standards.
