Travel Writer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Conduct research, craft, and present high-quality content to clients within designated timelines.

• Review and refine colleagues' work utilizing Brafton’s editing standards and procedures.

• Collaborate with account management to ensure alignment with clients’ objectives.

• Participate in project, client, and team meetings virtually.

• Monitor writing and editing output daily using our in-house project management system.

• Engage in direct communication with clients.

• Comply with highly specific style guides and client preferences as communicated through revisions, feedback calls, etc.

• Analyze and implement SEO requirements based on SERP, LLM, and AIO analysis.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Marketing, or Communications is highly preferred.

• 1-3 years of professional writing experience, including experience in travel writing.

• Extensive knowledge of travel, preferably with a focus on cruising.

• Exceptional writing and editing capabilities; applicants providing relevant writing samples are strongly preferred.

• Keen attention to detail.

• Familiarity with AP (Associated Press) style.

• Understanding of SEO keywords and the principles of branded writing.

• Strong time management and organizational abilities.

• Motivation to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-driven setting.

• Self-motivated individual capable of working independently as well as being an integral part of a team.

• Creative thinking regarding client briefs and marketing objectives.

• Strong phone presence for client calls and interviews.

• Capacity to adhere to detailed briefs, apply client-specific style guidelines, and operate within established content templates.

• Ability to collaborate with other departments in the organization, such as account management, sales, social media, and other production teams, including video and design.
