Travel Insurance Counsellor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Evaluate member requirements and suggest the most appropriate AMA travel insurance products, providing clear explanations of coverage details, exclusions, and policy stipulations.

• Offer outstanding sales and service through in-person, phone, and online channels, ensuring first-call resolution and prompt responses.

• Create precise and comprehensive policy documentation while demonstrating a keen eye for detail, adherence to privacy regulations, and information security protocols.

• Comply with AMA Travel policies, procedures, and operational standards, following audit controls, compliance mandates, and quality expectations.

• Foster strong, positive connections with members and travel partners by creating a welcoming “Practically Family” atmosphere and addressing concerns with empathy and professionalism.

• Assist business initiatives by engaging in call-out campaigns, consumer events, and product or marketing programs.

• Contribute to operational enhancements and apply sound judgment to align with AMA’s strategic goals and brand standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma along with a minimum of one year of experience in retail customer service; experience in the travel or insurance sector is considered a plus.

• Strong understanding of travel insurance products, reservation systems, and fundamental accounting principles, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

• Exceptional skills in needs assessment, complemented by strong communication, active listening, and customer service capabilities.

• Proven sales aptitude and confidence in presenting information to members or at events.

• Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and adapt in a dynamic environment.

• Empathy, creativity, and a solution-oriented approach to resolving member issues.

• Confidence in conveying travel insurance knowledge accurately and professionally.
