Personal Financial Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Deliver support during short-term, surge, and on-demand scenarios arising from Military requirements.

• Offer a complete range of personal financial counseling services to military personnel and their families at military bases.

• Services encompass education and counseling focused on financial matters.

• Provide individual counseling sessions, consultations with commanders, or collaboration with other providers or staff.

• Conduct briefings and presentations, or direct participants to referral resources outside the counseling context.

• Collaborate closely with installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to ensure the program aligns with installation needs.

• Aid service members in creating a spending plan for prolonged absences.

• Develop and distribute informational financial materials to service members and their families.

• Organize, promote, and deliver a diverse array of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree is mandatory.

• Candidates with an associate degree and 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

• Applicants with a high school diploma and 6 years of relevant experience may also be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial counseling is required.

• Must be a U.S. citizen and possess fluent English language skills.

• If stipulated by the contract, bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.

• Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation is necessary.

• Must successfully navigate the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.

• Possession of one of the following certifications is required: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
