This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver coverage during short-term, surge, and on-demand scenarios arising from military requirements, such as post-deployment events or to fill in for absent counselors.
• Offer a comprehensive range of personal financial counseling services to military personnel and their families at military installations.
• Engage in one-on-one counseling sessions, consultations with commanders or other providers, conduct briefings and presentations, or supply referral resources to participants outside of counseling contexts.
• Collaborate closely with installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to ensure the program aligns with its scope and effectively addresses the needs of the installation.
• Aid service members in creating a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develop and distribute informational financial resources for service members and their families.
• Organize, promote, and conduct a diverse array of Personal Financial Management classes and workshops, covering topics relevant to the military lifecycle, including but not limited to, arrival at the first duty station, pre- and post-deployment, and personal and career events.
• Address requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
• Possess the capability to effectively use virtual counseling or other electronic communication methods, such as web-based platforms, secure online chat, or video-based communications, including secure video teleconferencing provided by the customer.
• Manage duty to warn situations in compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) protocols.
• Communicate with leadership and engage in regular individual and group supervision, sharing insights on trends and issues pertinent to the installations where the counselor is assigned.
• Participate in ongoing in-services/training, quality improvement committees, or other assigned contract activities as necessary.
• A bachelor's degree is required.
• Consideration may be given to candidates with an associate degree plus 4 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
• Applicants with a high school diploma plus 6 years of experience may also be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
• A minimum of 3 years of financial counseling experience is necessary.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and fluent in English.
• If specified by the contract, must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation is required.
• Must successfully pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• One of the following certifications is required: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
