Trauma/Burn Quality and Research Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Assess data for accuracy and adherence to established ACS/ABA and State standards through regular extrapolation of trauma registry data elements pertinent to the ACS/ABA and trauma leadership dashboard.

• Oversee and execute data analysis for Trauma Service Performance Improvement, Research/Grants, Injury Prevention, and other administrative tasks.

• Analyze data, foresee the need for additional information, and create high-quality presentation graphs and reports.

• Capable of effectively communicating information to various disciplines.

• Manage all responsibilities related to trauma database during a trauma center designation or verification visit.

• This includes involvement in RFP preparation, chart selection, and chart preparation.

• Maintain and facilitate an efficient process for handling trauma/burn data report requests.

• Address data requests for research, compliance audits, and internal or external inquiries.

• Maintain an ACS/ABA dashboard to monitor and trend compliance with ACS/ABA metrics such as Non-Surgical Admissions, Exploratory Laparotomy counts, and Screenings.

• Comply with all regulatory standards for information release, including HIPAA and IRB research requests.

• Track and monitor the release of information and publications related to the trauma registry database.

• Prepare the data quality and utilization report for ACS/ABA site visits.

• Ensure the maintenance of required Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for certifications on an annual basis.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in DI Report Writing, trauma database coding (e.g., ICD-CM/PCS, AIS in ESO/DI V5 COLLECTOR).

• An Associate's Degree in Health Information Management, Nursing, or Computer Science is required.

• A Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management, Nursing, or Computer Science is preferred.

• Certification as a Specialist in Trauma Registry (CSTR) or similar certification must be obtained within one year of assuming the position.

• RHIA or RHIT certification is preferred.

• A valid RN Licensure is preferred.

• At least 4 years of experience in DI Report Writing and trauma database coding (e.g., ICD-CM/PCS, AIS in ESO/DI V5 COLLECTOR) is required.

• Prior knowledge in Health Information Management, Nursing, or Computer Science (with healthcare experience) is required.

• Experience in research, along with familiarity with Soarian, Cerner, SIS, SQL, R, or Python is preferred.
