Transportation Specialist – Functional

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as a functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) for transportation and freight management processes within the GFM program.

• Partner with customers and developers to identify, document, and enhance system requirements.

• Convert operational transportation needs into functional specifications for software improvements.

• Assist Help Desk operations by resolving functional transportation system issues and troubleshooting user challenges.

• Carry out internal and functional testing to ensure that system updates align with user and mission requirements.

• Create and present demonstrations and slide presentations to stakeholders, illustrating how proposed solutions fulfill original requirements.

• Prepare functional documentation, including Test Recommendation Documents containing step-by-step validation instructions.

• Engage actively in Agile practices, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and Joint Advisory Design (JAD) sessions.

• Provide insights on functional gaps and suggest enhancements to system usability and performance.

• Assist testers and technical teams with functional insights during system validation and verification.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active Secret Clearance is mandatory.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation, freight management, or logistics (preferably in a DoD or federal environment).

• Knowledge of DoD transportation policies, regulations, and systems is essential.

• Experience in Agile project settings, including requirements gathering, functional testing, and user validation.

• Proficient in Jira (or similar tools) for project tracking and issue management.

• Familiarity with Confluence (or similar tools) for documentation and knowledge sharing.

• Strong problem-solving abilities to translate operational needs into system requirements.

• Exceptional communication skills, capable of explaining functional transportation processes to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of an Agile team.
