This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assess new and renewal commercial trucking accounts—up to 40 per week—with premium amounts ranging from $10,000 to $100,000.
• Evaluate risk by utilizing loss runs, MVRs, CAB reports, FMCSA data, and other pertinent underwriting materials.
• Provide eligibility and pricing recommendations in accordance with underwriting guidelines and carrier appetites.
• Create detailed market submissions, quote proposals, and/or coverage comparisons.
• Effectively communicate with retail agents and internal stakeholders to collect complete and accurate risk information.
• Negotiate with carriers to obtain competitive terms, leveraging established market relationships.
• Monitor performance of bound accounts to identify profitability concerns or loss patterns.
• Resolve billing, endorsement, cancellation, and invoicing issues in collaboration with Premium Accounting.
• Collaborate with other teams to enhance marketing, sales, and planning efforts.
• Stay informed on industry trends, DOT/FMCSA regulations, and shifts in carrier appetites.
• At least 5 years of experience in commercial insurance underwriting or brokerage (preferably in trucking, commercial auto, or casualty lines).
• Experience working in both wholesale and/or retail brokerage environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Professional designations (e.g., TRS, CIC, CPCU, AU) are highly preferred.
• An active Property & Casualty license is required; a Surplus Lines license is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with agency management systems (e.g., AMS360, IMS) is a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication, and time management skills.
