Transport Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Continuously oversee network and service platforms.

• Identify, categorize, and manage alarms and events.

• Correlate alerts to evaluate impact on customers and internal infrastructure.

• Perform first-level troubleshooting in accordance with established operational procedures.

• Handle the complete incident lifecycle from diagnosis to escalation, resolution, and validation of service restoration.

• Assist during scheduled maintenance windows, operational changes, and post-change health assessments.

• Ensure adherence to operational standards, security mandates, and governance processes.

• Communicate with customers and stakeholders regarding incidents, service degradations, and restoration efforts.

• Maintain comprehensive shift logs and engage in operational handovers.

• Recognize recurring incidents and promote automation opportunities.

• Keep operational documentation and knowledge management resources up to date.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in a network operations, NOC, or telecommunications maintenance role.

• Practical experience with monitoring and management tools utilized in large-scale infrastructure settings.

• Strong understanding of transport network platforms and telecommunications infrastructure.

• Capability to conduct initial fault diagnosis, identify fault domains, and evaluate service impact.

• Experience in managing incident tickets and adhering to escalation procedures.

• Familiarity with collaborating with L2/L3 support teams, vendors, and specialized operational groups.

• Proficiency in maintaining accurate operational records and producing high-quality ticket documentation.

• Commitment to SLA compliance and KPI targets, such as MTTA and incident response times.

• Effective communication skills with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to manage major incident communications under pressure.

• Willingness to work in a 24/7 telecommunications environment.
