This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Act as a technical expert in the design, engineering, operation, and advancement of networks for Internet service providers and telecommunications companies.
• Provide technical guidance in diagnosing and resolving critical, complex, or system-wide incidents.
• Design, assess, and enhance architectures for access, aggregation, transport, core, edge, BNG/BRAS, and CGNAT.
• Conduct technical evaluations to pinpoint risks, vulnerabilities, bottlenecks, and areas for enhancement.
• Establish standards for configuration, security, high availability, convergence, capacity, observability, and resilience.
• Plan, review, and manage high-risk changes, ensuring thorough impact analysis, testing, rollback procedures, and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, LDP, routing policies, and Layer 2 and Layer 3 services.
• Assess scenarios involving traffic engineering, expansion, capacity, redundancy, and route and resource optimization.
• Create solution designs, diagrams, methods of procedure, technical documentation, root cause analyses, and evolution strategies.
• Validate solutions, projects, and configurations proposed by team members, clients, operators, manufacturers, and vendors.
• Assist in making technical decisions on strategic projects by interpreting risks, impacts, and alternatives.
• Mentor and guide analysts, encourage technical reviews, and enhance standardization and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to automation, tools, and processes that elevate the security, efficiency, and quality of technical outputs.
• Represent NIIS in technical discussions during meetings, presentations, crisis situations, and architecture negotiations with clients and partners.
• Extensive, well-established experience with telecommunications networks, especially in Internet service providers and telecommunications operators.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, switching, routing, high availability, and evidence-based troubleshooting.
• Advanced understanding of BGP, including policies, filters, attributes, communities, route selection, redundancy, security, and convergence.
• Advanced knowledge of OSPF and/or IS-IS, with the capacity to analyze adjacencies, metrics, areas or levels, redistribution, and timers.
• Solid understanding of MPLS/LDP and services such as L2VPN, L3VPN, VPLS, or similar technologies.
• Experience with VLAN, QinQ, STP/RSTP/MSTP, LACP, MC-LAG, VRRP, BFD, and mechanisms for failure and loop protection.
• Familiarity with BNG/BRAS, PPPoE, RADIUS, NAT/CGNAT, QoS, traffic engineering, and access networks.
• Ability to interpret topologies, configurations, forwarding tables, logs, telemetry, flows, and packet captures.
• Advanced experience with CLI, troubleshooting, and solution design in multivendor environments.
• Capability to develop and present projects, standards, executive and technical reports, change plans, and root cause analyses.
• Experience in providing technical leadership for incidents, projects, and critical changes in high-availability networks.
• Familiarity with automation tools such as Python, Ansible, Git, and APIs is advantageous.
• CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE, or equivalent certifications are preferred.
