Transmission Line Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute comprehensive engineering and design tasks for overhead high-voltage transmission lines (ranging from 69 kV to over 500 kV)

• Create and evaluate plan and profile drawings, structure loading trees, foundation designs, and specifications for conductors and insulators

• Carry out line routing analyses, assess structure positioning, and evaluate design implications utilizing PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and related software

• Generate design calculations, engineering reports, material inventories, bid documents, and construction packages

• Collaborate with internal teams including civil, structural, electrical, and project management departments

• Assist with project permitting, environmental assessments, land acquisition, and construction efforts as required

• Engage in design reviews, quality assurance checks, and safety assessments

• Maintain project documentation and ensure that designs align with company standards, industry codes (NESC), and client specifications

• Liaise with clients concerning technical matters, project updates, and expectations for deliverables

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in transmission line engineering or utility design

• Proficient in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and SABRE, or comparable modeling software

• Strong knowledge of NESC, ASCE, IEEE standards, and utility engineering methodologies

• Demonstrated experience in producing engineering drawings and construction documentation

• Excellent problem-solving abilities with a capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

• Outstanding verbal and written communication capabilities

• EIT certification is required; PE license or progress towards obtaining PE is highly preferred
