This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Gabon.
• Perform safety assessments and testing of equipment in installation environments.
• Oversee, implement, and document projects that require safety evaluations in compliance with national safety standards.
• Occasionally conduct product testing at the SGS laboratory as workload permits.
• Carry out field labeling evaluations in accordance with the SGS CRS US Field Evaluation Body Program requirements.
• Provide field evaluation reports and necessary documentation within specified deadlines.
• Share results of field evaluation reports with clients.
• Assess customer feedback on non-compliance letter reports as necessary.
• Review pre-evaluation documents prior to commencing assignments.
• Arrange travel and perform evaluations to optimize travel time and expenses.
• Offer travel and expense cost estimates upon request.
• Conduct field inspections within the allocated time frames and budget estimates.
• Timely submit final travel and expense reports.
• Carry out duties in accordance with the SGS Integrity Policy and internal standards, policies, and procedures.
• Undertake additional assigned or required tasks.
• An Associate degree in an Electrical/Mechanical field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or a technical degree/equivalent training with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code, UL and NFPA Safety Standards, and SEMI S2 Safety Standards is preferred.
• Familiarity with European Machinery and Low Voltage Directives, EN 60204, and Functional Safety Standards is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally approximately 50–75% of the time.
• Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong team spirit and adaptability.
• Capability to effectively communicate with SGS staff and clients abroad.
• High attention to detail and strong presentation skills.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel; internet skills are essential.
• Experience using handheld multi-meters, amp probes, dielectric testers, insulation resistance testers, and temperature recording tools.
• Skill in prioritizing workload and adhering to deadlines.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic setting and manage ambiguity.
• Capability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize them appropriately.
