Transmission Engineer I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.

📋 Description

• Oversee and conduct quality control on live event and linear acquisition signals across various transport formats.

• Adjust video, audio, and closed captioning as required.

• Work in collaboration with internal teams and external partners on the acquisition, monitoring, and distribution of live feeds.

• Diagnose and resolve daily operational issues to ensure dependable signal delivery and service continuity.

• Implement established Standard Operating Procedures and workflows related to transmission and distribution tasks.

• Act as a technical liaison for internal departments and external partners.

• Route and oversee multiple audio and video feeds across diverse transmission and distribution paths.

• Remotely set up and support hardware systems for live event acquisition, distribution, and linear operations.

• Assist operations in a 24/7 Technical Operations Center setting.

• Deliver prompt, customer-oriented technical support to internal teams and external partners.

• Expand knowledge of emerging technologies, tools, and workflows.

• Contribute to troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts to enhance operational performance and reliability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Familiarity with signal flows, signal measurements, and operational procedures.

• Basic knowledge of satellite, fiber, and IP-based transport technologies.

• Fundamental understanding of HLS, RTMP, SRT, unicast, and multicast protocols.

• Comprehension of digital distribution equipment and technologies utilized in broadcast transmission settings.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and standard computer-based tools.

• Capability to collaborate in a 24/7 technical operations environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Previous broadcasting experience, relevant military experience, or similar transferable experience is preferred.
