This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Research Team

• Identify texts and excerpts that require translation

• Estimate the timelines and efforts required for translation

• Integrate feedback from Subject Matter Experts and Advisors

• Assist in the creation of Factsheets on Gurus, significant figures, and historical events

• Translate texts from the 1400s to the 1800s from Braj OR Persian into clear, accurate, and accessible English

• Ensure that translations maintain linguistic nuance and poetic structure where applicable

• Highlight ambiguous or contested passages and work collaboratively on interpretations

• Guarantee compliance with project-wide translation standards and maintain consistency in terminology across texts and time periods

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven expertise in Braj OR Persian

• Excellent command of English with the ability to create clear and readable prose

• Capability to read Gurmukhi

• Experience with historical texts and manuscripts

• Knowledge of South Asian historical contexts

• Understanding of Sikh history
