Seasonal Localization Quality Associate – QC, 4+ months contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Execute Quality Control processes.

• Acquire, implement, and consistently adhere to CQ fluency’s quality standards for designated projects.

• Comprehend and fulfill client-specific quality directives, instructions, and workflows.

• Evaluate foreign-language outputs against English source materials to identify and rectify non-linguistic and functional discrepancies, including: Formatting, spacing, and layout; Numbers, dates, names, and capitalization; Fonts, bullets, headers, and footers; Links, cross-references, and tables of contents; Punctuation and consistency.

• Utilize, complete, and assist in enhancing quality checklists for assigned projects.

• Appropriately utilize all reference materials, glossaries, and client instructions during reviews.

• Confirm that deliverables meet functional, non-linguistic, and client-specific quality standards prior to submission.

• Manage Quality Assets.

• Collaborate in developing style guides, checklists, work instructions, and account-specific documentation.

• Ensure that quality documentation is precise, comprehensive, and submitted punctually.

• Maintain accurate administrative records and quality-related reports.

• Provide feedback and training support to resources.

• Review, consolidate, monitor, and align feedback from various proofreaders or reviewers.

• Deliver clear, targeted feedback to linguists, proofreaders, and both internal and external stakeholders.

• Assist in linguist training initiatives by reinforcing quality standards, recurring challenges, and best practices.

• Escalate complex linguistic challenges, inconsistencies, or uncertainties to Quality Managers.

• Aid in resolving linguistic disputes under supervision.

• Engage with linguists and proofreaders to address inquiries, clarifications, and timeline concerns.

• Provide tools and workflow support.

• Implement authorized quality-related modifications in CAT tools (e.g., memoQ), including project-level TM or terminology updates.

• Assist in organizing project files and maintaining clear quality documentation.

• Report quality-related actions, risks, or findings to Quality Managers.

• Facilitate coordination and communication support.

• Support Project Managers with quality-related coordination tasks, such as scheduling proofreading resources and preparing vendor-related documents.

• Engage in learning, flexibility, and development.

• Participate in onboarding and continuous training on quality processes, tools, and localization workflows.

• Exhibit flexibility in adjusting to shifting project requirements, priorities, and quality expectations.

• Gradually develop familiarity with linguistic quality concepts, client expectations, and escalation workflows.

• Proactively seek feedback to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and quality awareness.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in the translation or localization sector, including proficiency with translation tools.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a consistent focus on quality.

• Capability to accurately follow established processes, checklists, and instructions.

• Strong organizational abilities and dependability in adhering to deadlines.

• Ability to juggle multiple tasks across various projects and accounts.

• Willingness to accept feedback and a commitment to ongoing learning.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Positive, collaborative demeanor, and a strong team-oriented mindset.

• Technologically adept and comfortable using tools in a dynamic environment.

• Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and Adobe software products.

• Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is preferred.

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
