Experienced VRI English-ASL Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• This position offers the flexibility of remote work for a seasoned Video Remote Interpretation (VRI) English-ASL (American Sign Language) Interpreter located in the United States.

• The interpreter will provide precise interpretation services virtually through video, facilitating communication between English and ASL in various settings including medical, social services, customer service, and financial environments.

• The role focuses on enabling effective communication between service providers and the Deaf/Hard of Hearing community, ensuring clarity and understanding in care delivery.

• Interpretation Delivery: Delivers high-quality consecutive interpretation using secure Video Remote Interpretation (VRI) platforms.

• Policy Adherence: Complies with all Kreato Global policies and procedures regarding information confidentiality and interpreter ethics.

• Compliance: Upholds strict patient confidentiality as mandated by HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA, and related regulatory requirements, policies, and standards.

• Professionalism: Ensures the maintenance of quality service and fosters positive interactions with all patients, customers, healthcare providers, and clinical staff during remote sessions.

• Environment Management: Keeps a professional, well-lit, and distraction-free visual environment throughout all video calls.

• Continuous Improvement: Actively enhances vocabulary, ASL skills, and knowledge of specialized subject matter.

• Must reside in the United States and have either U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status (Green Card).

• At least 1 year of interpreting experience (previous VRI experience is a significant advantage).

• Familiarity with Kreato Global’s evaluation process that aligns with interpreting standards set by NCIHC, IMIA, and CHIA.

• National or State ASL Certification (e.g., RID, BEI) is strongly preferred.
