Translator – Health/Social Services Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver translations that are entirely human-generated using the provided XTM CAT tool; machine or AI translations are not allowed.

• Adhere to project-specific instructions, glossaries, and reference materials.

• Ensure that source concepts, style, and register are culturally and linguistically suitable for the target language.

• Conduct quality checks on language before submission.

• Complete and submit assignments within established deadlines and budget constraints.

• Review formatted target-language PDF documents and indicate corrections using Adobe markup tools.

• Maintain prompt and professional communication with Prisma team members.

• Engage in quality management processes, which include Corrective Action Reports, Root Cause Analyses, and implementation of solutions.

• Safeguard sensitive information such as PHI, PII, and SBU.

• Comply with Prisma's Master Service Agreement and Vendor Guide.

• Manage quick turnarounds for projects with small word counts.

• Provide written translation, editing, and proofreading services from English into the translator's native target language.

• Accept project assignments as needed based on availability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Current certification from either the American Translators Association (ATA) or DSHS LTC.

• Alternatively, possess an academic degree or formal translation certification from an accredited institution, two years of professional translation experience, proof of passing a written language fluency exam, and agree to participate in a mandatory two-person quality assurance workflow.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Must adhere to Prisma's Master Service Agreement (MSA) and any related MSA Addenda.

• Fluency in both English and the target language is required.

• Experience and proficiency in using contemporary CAT tools; XTM will be provided.

• Capability to work with both PC and MAC formats, including MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, fillable PDFs, rich text, and XML/text blocks.

• Must have Adobe Acrobat installed and be able to utilize Adobe markup tools in PDF files.

• A reliable desktop PC or laptop equipped with a dedicated, secure, high-speed internet connection is necessary.

• Languages sought include Azerbaijani, Bulgarian, Cebuano, Chamorro, Dutch, Estonian, Fulani, Greek, Gujarati, Hebrew, Hmong, Hungarian, Igbo, Ilocano, Ilonggo, Indonesian, Italian, Karen, Kikuyu, Kinyarwanda, Kurdish, Latvian, Lingala, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Malay, Malayalam, Marathi, Marshallese, Mongolian, Nepali, Oromo, Palauan, Rohingya, Rundi, Shona, Sinhalese, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Somali, Swahili, Tajik, Tamil, Telugu, Turkish, Turkmen, Twi, Uzbek, Wolof, Zulu, Chuukese, Czech, Ewe, Finnish, Georgian, Hakha Chin, Khmu, Kyrgyz, Luganda, Mandinka, Norwegian, Soninke, Tongan, Dinka, Kayah, Kosrean, Kunama, Iu Mien, Navajo, Nuer, Pohnpeian, Runyoro, Sangho, Tibetan; other specialties may be considered if qualifications are met.
