Translator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Deliver French translation, editing, proofreading, and project management services.

• Uphold and enhance the integrity of the Fidelity brand.

• Review internal and external translations to ensure compliance with Fidelity’s standards.

• Offer translation services adhering to industry regulations and Fidelity’s guidelines.

• Integrate translation processes within Marketing Operations to provide high-quality materials on time.

• Evaluate and endorse French materials for precision in collaboration with the Team Manager or Manager.

• Negotiate timelines with internal stakeholders and address any unresolved issues.

• Assess both externally and internally translated materials for quality in the French language.

• Address terminology, language style, and content inquiries.

• Conduct research on industry-specific terminology using government and specialized resources.

• Maintain and enhance Fidelity’s internal terminology database and glossary.

• Keep abreast of new French terms and trends to ensure the use of appropriate and high-quality language in Fidelity documents.

⛳️ Requirements

• Valid work authorization for Canada.

• At least 3 years of translation experience, ideally in the financial sector or a related field.

• Bachelor’s degree in Translation from a recognized institution or equivalent experience.

• Excellent communication skills in English and French.

• Familiarity with financial markets and terminology.

• Proficiency in translating accurately in both languages with the appropriate style.

• Strong organizational abilities and capacity to manage shifting priorities.

• Self-motivated, capable of self-management, and able to work with minimal supervision.

• Experience with machine translation software, including GlobalLink.

• Membership in ATIO or OTTIAQ would be advantageous.

• Openness to participate in promotional videos for digital content would be beneficial.
