Trainer, Law Enforcement – On-Call

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Leading training sessions focused on topics such as animal abuse and fighting investigations, animal cruelty and violent crimes, equine cruelty investigations, and police/dog interactions;

• Building and nurturing relationships with students and host agencies on behalf of Humane World for Animals;

• Collaborating with the Law Enforcement Training Coordinator to identify training opportunities;

• Organizing training schedules to align with the hiring and training needs of the Law Enforcement Training Center, while also developing a teaching outline and deciding on instructional methods including individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, and workshops;

• Overseeing assessments for trainees to evaluate progress and training effectiveness; responsible for reporting on the development of employees during their training periods.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred.

• A minimum of one year of relevant training experience is required;

• Experience collaborating closely with law enforcement on animal crime cases is essential;

• Must possess a strong understanding of animal cruelty laws and investigations, as well as a solid grasp of the connection between animal abuse and interpersonal violence;

• Exceptional verbal communication skills and experience in public speaking are necessary;

• Willingness and ability to travel is required.
