Trading Technology Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete trading technology stack, overseeing the overall strategy, development, and upkeep of Ethena’s trading platform.

• Lead a small team of trading technology engineers, working closely with stakeholders from Trading, Risk, and Operations teams.

• Provide guidance to your team while taking a prominent role in the development process.

• Emphasize high-quality engineering, resilient system design, development speed, and delivering top-tier execution capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring high-performing engineering teams within trading technology settings such as Investment Banks, Trading firms, Exchanges, or Market Makers.

• Proven track record of constructing and maintaining trading infrastructure from the ground level, including market data feed handlers, algorithm engines, backtesting frameworks, and execution platforms.

• Proficiency in modern development methodologies (TDD, BDD, CI/CD, SOLID), with the ability to write modular, clean code and develop resilient system designs.

• Strong understanding of trading mechanisms, security protocols, and infrastructure management across various venues.

• Practical experience with centralized cryptocurrency exchanges (CEXs) and trading instruments like perpetual swaps and deliverable futures.

• Knowledge of order routing, trade reconciliation, and the optimization of execution quality across multiple trading venues.

• Expertise in enhancing system performance, ensuring low-latency execution, high throughput, and execution quality.

• Strong capability to deconstruct complex challenges into actionable solutions while making strategic technical decisions.

• An advocate for TDD, BDD, and test automation, with hands-on experience in unit, integration, regression, performance, and end-to-end testing.
