
Trade Consultant – Customs Brokerage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Provide guidance to clients on tariff classification, valuation, country of origin, and eligibility for free trade agreements, along with drafting CBP Binding Ruling Requests.
• Assist in compliance efforts including verifications, post-entry corrections, and collaboration with CBP and Partner Government Agencies.
• Develop scope of work proposals, identify risks and potential refund opportunities for clients, and support duty drawback coordination.
• Assemble customs documentation, oversee post-entry filings, and keep logs for refunds, CBP inquiries, and entry statuses.
• Investigate and resolve supplemental duty bills and penalties, and produce reports that aid trade operations.
• Enhance business development by creating trade-related presentation materials and engaging in team meetings and process enhancements.
• At least 10 years of experience within the customs industry.
• Certification as a Customs Specialist (CCS) is required.
• A U.S. Customs Broker License is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of: Tariff classification and Explanatory Notes, U.S. Customs regulations (19 CFR), Valuation rules, and country of origin determinations.
• Skilled in: Processing customs entries across all transportation modes, utilizing ACE functionality and brokerage software, and proficient with Microsoft Excel and the entire Microsoft Office Suite.
