Tower Modification Technician – Top Hand

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• In the role of Tower Top Hand, you will collaborate within a team to assist with various projects, which may encompass new constructions, site modifications, water tank installations, or work on rooftops.

• Your daily tasks may involve on-site installation, repair, and modification activities.

• You will acquire knowledge on the effective use of tools, technology, and other resources necessary for the installation of mounts, antennas, grounding, cad welding, associated RF components, and inspecting structures.

• Adherence to all safety protocols set by Federal, State, Industry, and RMC regulations at all heights is expected.

• This position will be overseen by the Construction Manager.

• You must be capable of working at heights up to 1500 feet.

• Lead the crew in executing installation, repair, modification, optimization, or acceptance test procedures of wireless infrastructures and electrical equipment.

• A solid understanding of wireless infrastructure installation is required, including but not limited to antennas, feed lines, fiber optics, shelters, self-supporting towers, guy towers, and monopoles.

• Responsibilities include managing activities at the top and bottom of the tower.

• You should be able to analyze and interpret site data and measurements.

• Knowledge of appropriate troubleshooting and repair techniques for steel work is essential.

• Complete all necessary site photos (down tilts, side tilts, azimuths, etc.) and required closeout documents.

• Competence with tools at elevated levels is mandatory.

• You will effectively perform lead responsibilities by collaborating with all levels of management, staff, and customers.

• The ability to suggest changes, installation methods, or assist in discussions regarding site layout and repairs is important.

• Complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently within the project scope.

• A strict focus on detail and organization is necessary to ensure timely task completion and maintain the quality of workmanship.

• Responsibilities include the pickup and delivery of supplies, tools, equipment, components, etc.

• Maintain a clean and organized environment while adhering to company policies and industry regulations/standards (OSHA).

• Climb to elevated heights while working safely and efficiently.

• Monitor project sites for any defects or safety hazards that may need attention.

• Participate in vendor and in-house training and engage in certification programs as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Ability to manage all aspects of cell site construction or modifications with minimal supervision while continuously gaining experience.

• Working knowledge of cell site service monitors, RF test equipment, and PIM equipment.

• Comprehensive understanding of basic hand tools and extensive experience with power tools is required.

• Effectively interact with all levels of management, staff, and customers.

• Previous experience working safely and effectively at heights is essential.

• Candidates must pass the following tests prior to employment: drug test, background check, and a physical examination evaluation process during training.

• Maintain current certifications in CPR/First Aid AED, OSHA 30, RF Radiation Safety & Awareness, and Competent Climber.

• Willingness to travel for up to 4 weeks at a time, followed by a period of time off.

• Availability for evening, weekend, and rotational assignments, including on-call responsibilities.

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

• Competency in using office equipment (e.g., computer, copier, scanner, fax).

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (e.g., Outlook, Word, Access).

• Ability to effectively navigate the internet.

• Capability to distinguish and identify colors and color schemes.
