This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Title Examiners are tasked with abstracting and scrutinizing documents from public records, providing title opinions based on the facts and documentation.

• Review title orders in accordance with company guidelines to assess title conditions and insurability by considering the implications of documents like deeds, deeds of trust, mechanics liens, tax liens, judgments, assessments, probates, and other recorded matters.

• Analyze and evaluate relevant record documents to ascertain ownership, legal descriptions, and any connections to the title.

• Clarify the chain of title, exceptions, and requirements to clients and management.

• Identify title defects and develop corrective solutions.

• Evaluate risks and liabilities that may threaten the company, promptly notifying the local title manager, state title manager, or underwriter as necessary.

• Maintain appropriate production levels and delivery standards on a daily basis.

• Collaborate closely with customers and management to meet timing requirements for options and assist with inquiries.

• Prepare accurate and comprehensive title commitments in line with company examining and policy procedures.

• Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

• Participate in special projects and other duties as directed by management.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years’ experience in retail purchase title examination within the state of Florida.

• Capable of producing an average of 4-5 metes and bounds files daily OR 8-9 lot and block files daily.

• Proficient in examining and mapping Florida metes and bounds and section land.

• Possess advanced knowledge of complex title issues, including but not limited to, probate, foreclosure, trusts, guardianship, bankruptcy, and tax deeds.

• Show excellent computer proficiency and the ability to quickly adapt to new programs and processes.

• Familiarity with title searching software is essential.

• Knowledge of advanced underwriting policies and guidelines is required.

• Understanding of real estate law and title and escrow curative procedures.

• Capability to research and make reasonable decisions regarding requirements and exceptions on complex matters identified during the search examination.

• Ability to be adaptable when learning new streamlined procedures and guidelines to enhance the speed and accuracy of the search and examination process.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Organizational skills and the ability to work within set time frames.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure.

• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
