Title Examiner II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Title Examiners are tasked with abstracting and reviewing documents from public records, providing title opinions based on the gathered facts and documentation.

• Conduct searches of public records and analyze titles to ascertain the legal status of primarily residential subdivisions and potentially some metes and bounds properties.

• Perform title examinations of moderate complexity.

• Review documents such as deeds, mortgages, judgments, liens, probates, guardianships, bankruptcies, and foreclosure documents, and establish necessary title requirements to resolve title issues.

• Intermediate knowledge of Florida probate and foreclosure is essential.

• Ability to draft basic metes and bounds legal descriptions is required.

• Capable of explaining the chain of title, exceptions, and requirements to managers and underwriters.

• Demonstrate sound judgment within established policies and procedures.

• Engage in special projects and various duties as directed by management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Familiarity with title searching software is preferred, including DataTrace, TitlePoint, X1, etc.

• Understanding of underwriting policies and guidelines.

• Knowledge of real estate law along with title and escrow curative procedures.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work within set timeframes.

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure.

• Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

• A High School diploma (or equivalent) is required.

• Specialized training in word processing software, database, or spreadsheet software is desirable (acquired through educational programs or up to six months of training).

• A minimum of five years of relevant industry experience is necessary.

• Experience in title examination within Florida is required.
