Title Examiner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• The Title Examiner is essential in the property insurance process, responsible for searching public records and analyzing titles to ascertain the legal status of property titles.

• Generate a preliminary title report, commitment, foreclosure report, or non-policy information report that outlines all relevant liens, encumbrances, and the manner in which the title is vested.

• Conduct searches of both computerized and manual title records pertaining to real estate and property; identify documents filed in public records that impact land.

• Review title products, including deeds, deeds of trust, liens, easements, mortgages, restrictions, property taxes, and all relevant documents in the chain of title to establish ownership, encumbrances, and to confirm the accuracy and completeness of legal property descriptions and their impact on the title.

• Prepare the final product using internal programs, demonstrating solid examination knowledge and experience to support residential title transactions.

• Communicate title requirements and exceptions to the processing and closing departments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience in title examination and report writing.

• Basic understanding of state real estate laws and title practices related to probates, bankruptcies, divorces, judgments, and other associated matters.

• Proficient in PC skills, including typing and using various software applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.

• Experience with title production software, such as RamQuest, ResWare, Data Trace, etc., is preferred.

• High level of knowledge regarding various state Department of Insurance Title Rates, Rules, and Regulations, including policies, endorsements, premiums, and fees.

• Strong ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with others.

• Capability to interpret metes and bounds legal descriptions.
