Tigrinya VRI/OPI Interpretation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ethiopia.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry you are interpreting for, particularly healthcare and medical terminology. Training will be provided.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages, without adding, omitting, or substituting any information.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and Clients by providing precise and comprehensive interpretation of messages.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Maintain communication and report to your team leader.

• Follow dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Tigrinya".

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, though not required.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial, but not essential.

• Awareness of legal terminology is a plus.

• International certifications in the healthcare field are an advantage (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
