Three.js Frontend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate directly with the CEO and CTO on customer-facing interfaces where 3D technology is pivotal.

• Take full ownership of WebGL projects, encompassing scene architecture, motion design, art direction in code, and frame-budget management.

• Conceptualize and deliver experiences with autonomy over visual and interaction choices.

• Embrace an AI-first approach using Cursor and Claude Code to draft intents, explore concepts, scaffold, and refactor.

• Rapidly prototype, validate with real users, and refine designs before final implementation.

• Ensure performance and accessibility across devices, including mid-tier phones, support for reduced motion, and seamless WebGL fallback.

• Create reusable design patterns to expedite future surface development.

• Document effective AI prompts and workflows for team reference.

• Work closely with team members for collaboration and support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess an entrepreneurial mindset with experience in taking products from conception to launch.

• Demonstrated experience in shipping WebGL projects utilizing Three.js or React Three Fiber, operational on mobile devices.

• Proficient in React, TypeScript, Next.js, and JavaScript.

• Strong grasp of motion design principles, timing, and restraint.

• Backend knowledge in Node and SQL; eagerness to learn SST and Drizzle (not mandatory from day one).

• Capability to independently manage entire projects and significant sections of a codebase.

• Background in developing paid products and services.

• Excellent communication skills pertaining to technical challenges, limitations, and project timelines.

• Comfortable working in a dynamic, unstructured startup environment.

• Ability to provide a link to a completed project that can be accessed on a mobile device.
