Frontend Desktop Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Albania.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain Keet Desktop, a versatile P2P communications application.

• Execute UI/UX development utilizing React on the Pear runtime.

• Enhance application efficiency, focusing on rendering and memory optimization.

• Establish and uphold peer-to-peer connections along with data replication mechanisms.

• Play a key role in shaping the future of decentralized communication.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience with React/Preact and contemporary JavaScript/TypeScript in production-level applications.

• Strong proficiency in state management libraries (Redux, Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or similar).

• Capability to produce modular, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code.

• Solid expertise in testing and debugging intricate frontend applications.

• Profound interest or background in P2P technologies or distributed systems.

• Ability to thrive in a remote, globally distributed team while maintaining effective communication skills.

• Preferred experience in desktop application development (Electron, Tauri, or similar environments).

• Familiarity with video/audio APIs (WebRTC, media streams) and real-time communication is a plus.

• Proven ability to enhance UI performance: rendering and memory management is preferred.

• Experience in creating cross-platform applications (macOS, Windows, Linux, etc.) is preferred.

• Contributions to open-source projects, particularly in P2P or decentralized technology, are a bonus.
