Test Engineer - Federal Health

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, implement, and uphold functional, integration, system, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing plans.

• Generate comprehensive test scripts, test scenarios, and relevant test data based on established business and technical requirements.

• Conduct both manual and automated testing processes throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Identify, document, prioritize, and monitor software defects until resolution, collaborating closely with development teams.

• Verify system functionality against approved business requirements, technical specifications, and acceptance criteria.

• Assist in Configuration and Integration Testing (CIT) tasks to ensure applications are thoroughly validated prior to production deployment.

• Engage in Integrated Design Reviews (IDR), Functional Readiness Reviews (FRR), deployment readiness assessments, and production validation efforts.

• Maintain testing documentation, defect logs, traceability records, and quality metrics to support program governance.

• Work alongside Business Analysts, Test Case Designers, engineers, and project managers to enhance testing processes and software quality continuously.

• Suggest enhancements to testing strategies, automation possibilities, and quality assurance processes that bolster overall program performance.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.

• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or systems validation within enterprise IT settings.

• Proven experience in developing test plans, executing test cases, documenting defects, and supporting software quality assurance efforts.

• Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Agile, Scrum, SAFe, or hybrid development methodologies.

• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jira, HP ALM, Selenium, or similar testing and defect management tools is preferred.

• ISTQB Foundation Level, Certified Software Tester (CSTE), or an equivalent testing certification is preferred.

• Experience working with VA, VHA, DHA, or other Federal healthcare organizations, health IT, telehealth, or Federal program management is preferred.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

• Ability to acquire and maintain a Level 3 Public Trust clearance.
