
Territory Sales Representative – Dairy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Implement the sales strategy and achieve set objectives for the designated territory by expanding current customer accounts, developing new prospects, and acting as a strategic partner in fostering business growth.
• Identify potential clients for animal nutrition and health products, including but not limited to feed companies, premix manufacturers, distributors or other channel partners, independent nutritionists, veterinarians, and large livestock producers.
• Employ value-added selling techniques and utilize marketing support plans to guide prospects through the sales process towards successful completion.
• Capable of articulating and guiding customers and prospects to a clear understanding of the Balchem product value proposition.
• This encompasses engaging in and contributing to strategic and tactical discussions aimed at business growth with customers.
• Skilled in organizing and presenting technical product information to key decision-makers and large producers.
• Track product performance and customer satisfaction, providing feedback to Balchem as necessary.
• Stay informed about the dairy industry, including potential customers, competitive products, sales trends, and other business opportunities.
• Create sales forecasts to facilitate efficient production planning and raw material procurement.
• Provide insights on competitive intelligence.
• Assist in the promotion and representation of products through trade shows, seminars, conferences, and other industry-related opportunities.
• Complete administrative responsibilities promptly and accurately, including expense reporting, call reports, and database management.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and equipment safety measures.
• Perform other related functions essential for ensuring business growth.
• Bachelor’s degree in an agriculture-related field (preferably in dairy or animal science).
• At least 3 years of successful sales experience with a demonstrated track record of customer growth and value recognition.
• Experience in selling or providing support across a diverse customer and channel partner base is essential.
• Business acumen with proven capabilities in developing action plans, setting goals, and strategic account management.
• Self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic.
• Strong interest in animal agriculture with a passion for selling in the dairy sector.
• Ability to influence decision-making processes across various customer segments, including nutrition professionals, dairy producers, feed mills, distributors, and channel partners.
• Proficient in delivering scientific information and key messages about Balchem products to significant dairy influencers within the assigned territory.
• Experience with the consultative selling cycle is critical.
• Effective communication of technical information, both written and oral, is crucial.
