This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Engage with cannabis wholesale customers to deliver impactful presentations for decision-makers, leading to enhanced sales and increased visibility of the Story brand.
• Collaborate with wholesale clients to assess their needs and propose tailored solutions to boost sales of the Story brand.
• Conduct regular visits to customer locations to promote, upsell, and gather analytics on Story brands and competitors.
• Develop and execute effective and stable sales strategies for a designated territory.
• Monitor key reporting metrics, including product placements and the acquisition of new accounts.
• Enhance product marketability through effective shelf management, display positioning, and price point optimization.
• Conduct daily sales outreach calls.
• Analyze sales activities to identify performance gaps and ensure achievement of sales objectives.
• Work in close collaboration with marketing to drive strategic initiatives and maintain compliance.
• Identify and cultivate new business opportunities for the company; pinpoint potential suppliers or customers, create proposals to present these relationships to upper management, and oversee negotiation processes.
• Negotiate vendor contracts to secure fair terms for all parties involved.
• Regularly review sales reports to pinpoint opportunities for inventory turnover or markdowns.
• Analyze market competition and manage KPI reporting.
• Utilize reporting tools to track progress against established sales targets.
• Conduct research, analysis, and forecasting of current and future buying trends, markets, styles, and products, with a focus on specified target demographics.
• Build and sustain relationships with wholesalers and suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts with wholesalers and suppliers.
• Evaluate financial risks associated with purchases.
• Attend trade shows, product exhibitions, and conferences to stay informed about new products and industry trends.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
• Foster an understanding and drive towards optimal and increased market share.
• A minimum of a High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalent is required.
• A Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 3 years of sales experience in the cannabis industry.
• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage high-stress situations and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability when necessary.
• Self-starter with the ability to juggle multiple tasks effectively.
• High proficiency in Excel, Leaf Trade, Dutchie, and Metrc.
• Willingness to travel throughout the State of Maryland.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
