This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the distribution network within a designated territory, which encompasses agency prospecting, onboarding, relationship management, and, when necessary, terminations.
• Evaluate the territory to recognize opportunities and challenges for sustainable growth.
• Engage in the development and implementation of regional distribution strategies.
• Cultivate and sustain agency knowledge, relationships, contracts, coding, tiering, compensation, and contact details.
• Establish a pipeline of prospects, niches, and portfolios while prequalifying submissions.
• Educate agents on Zenith’s underwriting appetite, offerings, services, systems, tools, and processes.
• Collaboratively manage new and renewal sales alongside management, underwriters, and various departments.
• Advocate for pricing and selection practices and encourage the acquisition and retention of desirable business.
• Assist agents in promoting program and service value, including joint presentations to policyholders.
• Monitor agency performance and modify agency plans as required.
• Gather competitive intelligence for the local market.
• Inform agents about Zenith’s products, capabilities, brand, and value proposition.
• Conduct agency orientations, training sessions, joint sales calls, and participate in industry, agency, policyholder, and association events.
• Enhance the agency and policyholder experience by identifying and addressing service obstacles.
• Aid underwriting and other departments in resolving policyholder inquiries.
• Foster relationships among agents, policyholders, associations, and Zenith staff and management.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• A Bachelor’s Degree or a comparable combination of training and experience is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the insurance sector, including workers' compensation product-line experience and basic underwriting knowledge, or 5+ years of sales industry and/or customer-facing experience in maintaining and expanding a book of business.
• Strong communication skills are essential.
• Capable of effectively presenting ideas in both formal and informal contexts.
• Must be at ease with delivering public presentations.
• Proven track record in sales performance.
• Exhibited skills in managing influence.
• Team-oriented mindset.
• A valid driver's license in good standing is required.
