This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Manages a designated territory with diverse and demanding agency partners, focusing on profitable premium growth to meet financial and operational objectives.
• Develops, implements, and executes territory and agency strategies aimed at achieving both short-term and long-term goals, utilizing all company programs, tools, and resources in partnership with internal business teams.
• Takes ownership of the business development process within the assigned market area, placing significant emphasis on establishing a pipeline of profitable new business and ensuring renewal retention.
• Continuously identifies and assesses potential new agency prospects within the territory, conducting surveys and obtaining completed agency applications.
• Fosters and nurtures intricate agency partnerships through personal interactions with agency owners, management, and frontline team members.
• Creates, drives, and oversees robust producer relationships through high visibility, a clear understanding of company strategy, and collaborative sales planning.
• Engages with the branch team regarding complex agency relationships and proactively coordinates actions to resolve potential issues, involving other departments as necessary.
• Develops and implements an effective agency management sales plan targeting broad and challenging agencies to achieve optimal production and profit objectives within the assigned territory.
• Leads the agency management processes within the designated geographical territory, including agency prospecting, business planning, engagement, training, and compensation.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing or business, or relevant equivalent work experience.
• A minimum of five years of experience in property and casualty underwriting, claims, sales territory development, agency work, or related fields.
• Preferred insurance designations such as CPCU or CIC, or possession of an agent license.
• Thorough understanding of the property and casualty insurance industry.
• Advanced knowledge of independent agency operations, market dynamics, and competitor insights.
• Exceptional problem-solving capabilities with the ability to make sound decisions.
• Strong sales and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in presentation skills.
• Superior organizational, time management, and planning capabilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively solve problems.
• Capability to work independently.
• Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
• Proven leadership qualities.
• Travel is required; a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report per company standards is necessary if driving.
