Tendering Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete bid process related to Grid Automation, from evaluating client requests to delivering proposals.

• Assess customer requirements and RFQs to identify and provide products, services, and solutions from the DS Agile, G500, GPG, AAA, Cyber Security, MiCOM, and Multilin ranges.

• Assemble proposals that include Telecom and M&D scopes when applicable.

• Guarantee compliance of offers with technical specifications and tender requirements.

• Recognize and highlight significant risks, ensuring mitigation strategies are documented in the Risk & Opportunity register.

• Manage and execute Return of Experience (ROE) processes.

• Ensure proposals are in line with commercial and execution strategies.

• Acquire technical derogations and approvals when necessary.

• Conduct site evaluations for brownfield or existing substations.

• Keep typical circuits, schemes, and solutions updated in the Tendering Tool.

• Ensure that technical and commercial offers adhere to schedules and meet quality standards.

• Review and address bid technical clarifications, presenting solutions to clients.

• Assist with order booking in accordance with signed contracts, purchase orders, budget margins, and the Operations turnover process.

• Support Sales in commercial and technical discussions and negotiations with customers.

• Manage all phases of bids in accordance with company policies and guidelines.

• Conduct internal tender reviews with stakeholders based on tender deadlines.

• Facilitate transfer meetings and provide relevant documentation to Operations.

• Monitor and assess tendering hit rates, submission percentages, and win rates.

• Review and evaluate cost and price preparations and calculations.

• Secure formal third-party product/system quotes and update the Tendering Tool accordingly.

• Ensure accurate costing in the Estimation Tool with the latest updates.

• Challenge product, solution, and delivery costs to optimize expenses and analyze risks.

• Execute commercial and technical win/loss analysis for bids.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• At least 3 years of experience in tendering, commercial, engineering, or related functions.

• In-depth knowledge and understanding of grid automation, protection, and DCS/SCS.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Willingness to travel internationally up to 10-15% of the time, depending on business needs.

• Knowledge of Telecom and M&D is advantageous.

• Familiarity with MENAT customer requirements and specifications.

• Comfortable with hybrid working conditions.

• Understanding of commercial contracting guidelines.

• Proactive attitude with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
