This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Define the structure of the channel, including its organization, foundational content pillars, and strategies for growth over time.
• Create an approach for core content frameworks: an educational/tutorial system, a creator-driven long-form strategy, and a creator showcase model.
• Establish packaging and publishing guidelines — including titles, thumbnails, descriptions, playlists, frequency, and rollout — based on platform incentives.
• Develop a rollout strategy across the content timeline, keeping future quarters in mind.
• Review briefs and source materials, and facilitate workshops and working sessions to ensure alignment among the team and clients.
• Direct the concept and development of tutorial content — refining topics, framing episodes, recommending formats, scripting, and overseeing direction for long-form 16:9 episodes.
• Spearhead content conceptualization for long-form creator episodes — creating story outlines, structuring scripts and episodes, providing editing guidance, and offering creative visual inputs.
• Manage creator showcase packaging — including titles, thumbnail direction, descriptions, playlist placements, and creator credits.
• Carry concepts through various internal and client review stages, maintaining high quality and facilitating feedback effectively.
• Collaborate closely with the account lead, project managers, creative teams, and production to translate strategic plans into deliverable work.
• Attend a regular weekly client status meeting (5:30–6:30pm PT) and participate in internal scrums, supplemented by ad hoc working sessions and written communication via the client's preferred platforms.
• Identify risks and opportunities early, bringing solutions rather than just highlighting concerns.
• Navigate uncertain situations with confidence in a dynamic environment where direction may change and effective execution is crucial.
• Proven experience in building and expanding YouTube channels — you should be able to highlight channels and audiences you have successfully developed.
• Comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of the YouTube platform: how the algorithm operates, what fosters discovery, watch time, and retention, and distinguishing effective strategies from ineffective ones.
• Proficiency in both the mechanics (packaging, thumbnails, titles, publishing frequency, analytics) and the content strategy (formats, storytelling, and editorial that engages an audience).
• Experience in creating long-form content and/or creator-led initiatives, particularly in educational or tutorial formats.
• Strong conceptual and editorial instincts, capable of providing clear editing and format guidance.
• Clear and confident communication skills across presentations, written formats, and client discussions.
• Comfort in fast-paced environments where priorities shift and ambiguity is part of the workflow.
• Experience collaborating with global stakeholders across different time zones and managing cross-cultural working relationships is advantageous.
