This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Evaluate patient requirements within a telemedicine care environment
• Triage patients and distinguish their specific needs
• Assess patients promptly, prioritizing their care
• Conduct comprehensive histories and physical examinations
• Develop personalized, evidence-based care plans
• Consult with the on-call WellNow physician and radiologist when necessary
• Manage relationships with payers across the range of services offered
• Order laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic tests based on evidence-based practices
• Utilize evidence-based resources for treatment alternatives
• Prescribe and order suitable medications
• Consult and refer patients to primary care and specialized physicians
• Perform procedures consistent with the services offered and standard care
• Provide education to patients regarding disease processes and discharge plans
• Uphold patient confidentiality
• Fulfill CME requirements for the specialty
• Attend peer review and educational update meetings
• Mentor and educate other staff members
• Communicate effectively with clinical staff about patient status and care plans
• Maintain professionalism and punctuality
• Keep patient and billing records organized
• Complete charts within three days following each shift
• Review and follow up on pending diagnostic tests
• Participate in meetings and contribute to special projects
• Minimum of 1 year experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or family practice, including the capability to manage both adult and pediatric patients
• Ideal candidates will have experience in both fast track and main emergency department settings
• Strong bedside manner and interpersonal skills
• Ability to independently evaluate and manage patients while serving as a team leader
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Friendly demeanor and customer service orientation
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team
• Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program or a recognized university
• Willingness to obtain multiple state licenses as mandated by WellNow
• Must possess a NY state license at the time of employment
