Telecom Field Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Assist field projects through precise and consistent data gathering and documentation.

• Conduct walk-outs to neighborhoods or rural locations utilizing mobile devices and/or survey tools to gather GPS and asset data for telephone poles, civil structures, utilities, and associated infrastructure.

• Adhere to a structured, step-by-step mobile app procedure to record necessary attributes and notes (process discipline is crucial).

• Collaborate with a team lead and managers to advance assigned tasks and achieve daily objectives.

• Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to outside and/or inside plant infrastructure.

• Communicate effectively with team members working in neighboring areas to prevent gaps or duplication of efforts.

• Assist with research, testing, and process enhancement initiatives as required.

• Ensure safety while working outdoors in all weather conditions, halting work when conditions are deemed unsafe.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1–2 years of relevant experience (preferably in telecommunications fieldwork) and/or recent graduate from a university, college, or technical program (or an equivalent mix of training and experience).

• Proficient in using mobile devices and GPS/survey tools to accurately capture data; capable of efficiently working on computers, tablets, and smartphones (Android/iOS); familiar with Google Workspace (or similar platforms).

• Able to consistently learn and follow a step-by-step mobile app workflow, document outlier scenarios effectively, and troubleshoot basic app/device issues.

• Safety-conscious and risk-aware; capable of working outdoors in diverse conditions and demonstrating sound judgment (including stopping work when conditions are unsafe).

• Communicates clearly with a team lead and nearby field teams to ensure coordinated coverage and avoid gaps or duplication.

• Available for the entire project duration (from mid-July to early September, approximately).
