This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Serve as the primary expert for the Owner regarding technology strategy, design, and integration for data center initiatives.
• Convert business needs into technology solutions that support performance, resilience, and growth goals.
• Provide guidance to leadership on current industry trends, standards, and advancements in data center technology.
• Review and direct the design of structured cabling systems, network infrastructure, and IT spaces (MDF/IDF, white space, telecom rooms).
• Ensure that designs comply with standards (BICSI, TIA/EIA, Uptime Institute, IEEE) and adhere to best practices for scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Offer insights on the integration of smart building systems, IoT, and converged network solutions.
• Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and security teams to ensure that technology requirements are seamlessly integrated into the overall facility design.
• Assess vendor solutions, perform technical due diligence, and assist in procurement strategies.
• Work closely with commissioning teams to verify system performance and guarantee operational readiness.
• Develop the Owner’s technology standards, playbooks, and roadmap for both existing and future facilities.
• Provide advice on long-term lifecycle management, encompassing upgrades, capacity planning, and sustainability considerations.
• Assist in evaluating emerging technologies such as edge computing, AI integration, and advanced connectivity solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Over 8 years of experience in data center design, IT infrastructure, or technology consulting.
• Demonstrated expertise in structured cabling, networking, and IT systems integration.
• Experience with an Owner’s Representative or mission-critical projects is highly preferred.
• Certifications such as RCDD, CCNP/CCIE, CDCDP, or their equivalents are required.
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and best practices in data center design.
