Techno-Functional Consultant – D365, Business Central

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sri Lanka.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with stakeholders to collect, document, and convert business requirements into both functional and technical solution designs.

• Set up and implement Dynamics 365 Business Central modules, including Finance, Purchasing, Inventory, and Jobs/Projects.

• Create and deploy Dynamics 365 Field Service solutions that encompass work orders, scheduling, dispatch, and mobile workflows.

• Facilitate workshops, solution design sessions, and discussions with stakeholders.

• Develop and maintain customizations and extensions within Business Central using AL.

• Design and oversee integrations between Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365, and external systems via APIs and middleware.

• Utilize Microsoft Power Platform tools such as Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI to provide automation and reporting solutions.

• Work in partnership with developers and data engineers to ensure the delivery of high-quality technical solutions.

• Analyze and optimize end-to-end service delivery processes from job creation to billing and reporting.

• Assist with data migration tasks including mapping, transformation, validation, and planning for migration.

• Identify opportunities for automation, integration, and enhancement of operational workflows.

• Engage in testing, deployment, release management, and post-implementation activities.

• Deliver user training, create system documentation, and provide ongoing support to business users.

• Ensure that solutions are scalable, reliable, and in line with business objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–6 years of experience in a consulting role focused on Dynamics 365 within a techno-functional or hybrid capacity.

• Extensive hands-on experience with the implementation and support of Dynamics 365 Business Central.

• Practical experience in delivering or supporting Dynamics 365 Field Service solutions.

• Familiarity with the complete project lifecycle delivery in ERP or enterprise system environments.

• Microsoft certifications in Dynamics 365, Business Central, Field Service, or Power Platform are highly preferred.

• Strong understanding of ERP processes, including finance, procurement, inventory management, and job costing.

• Experience with field service workflows, including work orders, scheduling, dispatch, and asset management.

• Ability to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into functional and technical solution designs.

• Experience in mapping and optimizing end-to-end operational and service delivery processes.

• Hands-on experience in developing Business Central extensions using AL.

• Experience in designing and supporting integrations using APIs, web services, or middleware.

• Working knowledge of Azure services, such as Logic Apps, Functions, and Service Bus.

• Experience in building automation workflows utilizing Power Automate.

• Understanding of Dynamics 365 data structures, entities, and migration strategies.

• Desirable experience with Power Apps and Power BI.

• Experience working in multi-system environments that integrate ERP, CRM, and external platforms.

• Strong skills in stakeholder engagement and relationship management.

• Excellent communication, workshop facilitation, and documentation skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Capability to effectively balance business requirements with technical constraints.
