This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Create the System User's Manual for designated projects.
• Develop Help content incorporated within each software installation package.
• Prepare and refine CDRL deliverables, which include trip reports, presentation materials, Quarterly Management Review packages, meeting minutes, Monthly Status Reports, the Software Version Description, and the Completion Summary Report.
• Ensure that deliverables require no significant corrections from the Government.
• Write documentation in Markdown within the Government-approved GitLab repository.
• Keep documentation as code alongside the software baseline.
• Apply appropriate CUI markings to both draft and delivered materials.
• Uphold document baseline discipline.
• Oversee and review the documentation efforts of other contributors.
• A Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
• 4 to 8 years of relevant professional experience in technical documentation.
• An active DoD Secret clearance at the time of application.
• Training in records management and CUI marking discipline.
• Knowledge of derivative classification when preparing classified documentation.
• Willingness to travel to Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland for reviews and integration events.
• Experience in Markdown and docs-as-code authoring.
• Familiarity with GitLab Wiki, Pages, and merge-request documentation workflows.
• Experience in developing the System User's Manual and Help content.
• Skills in CDRL preparation and editing.
• Knowledge of static site generators such as MkDocs, Sphinx, or Hugo.
• Proficiency in technical editing and maintaining style consistency.
• Understanding of CUI marking and handling protocols.
• Experience with version control and document baseline discipline.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat production.
• Skills in preparing graphics and diagrams.
• Familiarity with DocBook/DITA.
• A signed non-disclosure agreement is required before starting.
• Completion of mandatory DoD and Army training, including Cyber Awareness, TARP, annual security refresher, insider threat awareness, CUI handling, Antiterrorism Level I, iWATCH briefing, ATCTS registration, and installation access processing.
