Technical Writer – Contract Role

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Review existing documentation to identify gaps, inconsistencies, or outdated content; suggest and implement enhancements.

• Develop and manage essential documentation (including card issuing and payment processing API guides, service documentation, release notes, integration guides, and user-facing technical documentation) with a focus on scalability and long-term usability.

• Convert intricate card scheme rules and card processing workflows into clear and actionable information for developers and business users.

• Work closely with Product Managers, Domain Experts, and Engineers to comprehend technical concepts, workflows, and system interactions.

• Ensure all documentation adheres to high standards of clarity, usability, and consistency, aligned with product objectives and regulatory standards.

• Serve as a link between documentation and product delivery by proactively identifying and pursuing small-scale enhancements that improve the developer or customer experience.

• Track and analyze documentation usage trends to guide content improvements and pinpoint areas of high or low engagement.

• Utilize tools like ChatGPT and AI-assisted writing technologies to boost the quality and efficiency of documentation workflows.

• After enhancing foundational documentation, shift focus towards external and internal knowledge management, with the potential to develop AI-driven solutions that improve onboarding, support, and internal employee resources.

• Participate in the development and testing of these AI-driven solutions to provide automated support based on the documentation created, becoming a vital contributor to our strategic plans for knowledge automation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Technical Writer in the payments, card issuing, or card processing sector, preferably with a thorough understanding of card scheme rules (Visa, Mastercard) and the technical elements of card issuing and transaction processing.

• Proven ability to independently manage documentation projects from conception to completion.

• Practical experience with API documentation standards.

• Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills, with a strong attention to detail and consistency.

• Strong capability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.

• Experience with documentation platforms (e.g., Confluence, Git-based workflows).

• Familiarity with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT to enhance content creation and boost documentation productivity.

• Ability to swiftly understand complex technical concepts and translate them into clear, structured documentation.

• Interest in evolving documentation into AI-driven, scalable solutions.

• Experience with or willingness to explore AI and automation technologies in the realm of documentation and knowledge management.
