Junior Technical Writer / Junior Technical Editor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Development, upkeep, and enhancement of technical documentation (e.g., customer manuals, operational manuals, process and service documents) in close collaboration with specialized departments, utilizing XML or Markdown.

• Implementation of style guides, templates, and procedures for content governance and version control.

• Assistance and troubleshooting of automated publication pipelines employing tools such as GitLab, DITA Open Toolkit, and REST APIs.

• Assurance of consistent, auditable, and compliance-compliant documentation.

• Ongoing optimization of documentation processes and proactive involvement in the AI-assisted editorial future.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Computer Science, Communication, Engineering, or a related field.

• Professional experience as a technical writer, preferably within an IT or infrastructure setting.

• Ideally, familiarity with XML, Markdown, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and document workflows.

• Experience with AI-assisted content workflows along with a keen interest in their ongoing development.

• Organized, meticulous, and independent working style, complemented by a strong hands-on mentality.

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit, particularly in conveying technical matters between IT, business units, and management.

• Proficient in both German and English, with strong written and spoken abilities.
