This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.
• Conduct research to create, edit, format, and sustain technical documentation, process documentation, user manuals, job aids, reports, meeting materials, and program outputs.
• Convert information from technical teams, instructional designers, data analysts, QA personnel, help desk staff, and program leadership into concise documentation.
• Provide documentation support for web-based applications, learning management systems, training processes, user support protocols, reporting methodologies, and operational functions.
• Develop and uphold standard operating procedures, knowledge base articles, FAQs, release notes, user guidelines, and internal support documentation.
• Evaluate documentation for clarity, consistency, grammar, formatting, accuracy, and compliance with customer specifications.
• Assist with ongoing deliverables such as monthly reports, meeting minutes, action item logs, status updates, and documentation packages.
• Keep documentation repositories, templates, revision histories, source files, and final deliverable versions well-organized.
• Monitor edits, stakeholder feedback, revisions, approvals, and the status of documents until completion.
• Ensure accessible document formatting and implement Section 508 or similar accessibility standards for electronic deliverables.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather inputs, validate content, address comments, and prepare documents ready for submission.
• Aid in documenting system updates, revisions to training products, issue resolution procedures, and operational practices.
• Contribute to enhancements in templates, naming conventions, document workflows, and knowledge management strategies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Information Technology, Education, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be accepted.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical writing, documentation development, content editing, reporting, or similar documentation roles.
• Proficiency in developing technical, operational, training, user support, or process documentation.
• Excellent writing, editing, formatting, proofreading, and document organization abilities.
• Capability to gather insights from various stakeholders and produce clear, precise, and practical documentation.
• Familiarity with document control, templates, style guides, version management, and review processes.
• Understanding of accessibility considerations for electronic documents, including Section 508 or equivalent standards.
• Keen attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple documentation tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
