Staff Engineering Technical Writer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the existing customer success and PMM teams to develop an educational strategy that utilizes industry developments to enhance awareness and adoption of 1Password's developer tools.

• Produce content optimized for AI and generative search, including tutorials, technical blogs, and other technical resources.

• Report to the Director of Developer Relations and work in conjunction with the current technical writing team to generate content that can be surfaced by AI.

• Interact with the community and internal stakeholders to enhance content across 1Password’s channels and address content gaps through authoring or curation.

• Collaborate with the web platform owners to optimize content and web presence for AI discoverability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in technical content creation, including documentation, tutorials, and marketing materials for DevOps tools, CLIs, or programming languages.

• A robust user perspective informed by product testing and usage, which aids in identifying content requirements and product issues.

• Proficiency in using web metrics data to optimize documentation, assess content strategy, pinpoint content gaps, drive traffic, and enhance user engagement.

• Experience in collaborating with technical product marketing, social media teams, customer support, subject matter experts, communications, and branding to create a cohesive external representation of a product’s technical features and use cases.

• Demonstrated collaboration with teams responsible for developing the content platform to enhance performance, usability, searchability, and compatibility with AI.

• Experience empowering engineering and product teams to produce high-quality documentation and various types of technical content through training, tools, standards, and automation.
