Technical Writer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearheading the creation of high-quality technical documentation for intricate software systems and space ground architectures.

• Developing and sustaining system documentation, user manuals, API documentation, and operational procedures.

• Converting technical requirements, architecture, and workflows into precise, concise written materials.

• Setting and enforcing documentation standards, processes, and style guidelines across various programs.

• Ensuring documentation complies with government regulations, compliance frameworks, and contract requirements.

• Reviewing and refining technical content for clarity, precision, and consistency.

• Collaborating with engineers and program teams to collect and verify technical information.

• Promoting documentation best practices among engineering and program contributors.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in support of software systems or highly technical programs.

• Proven experience in documenting software systems, APIs, or distributed architectures.

• Familiarity with aligning documentation to government or regulated program requirements (e.g., compliance, deliverables, audits).

• Proficient in translating complex technical concepts into clear, structured documentation for diverse audiences.

• Experience with version control and documentation management tools.

• Extremely detail-oriented with excellent editing and proofreading abilities.

• Capable of managing multiple documentation projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.

• Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally and asking pertinent questions to gain clarity.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance.
