Technical Writer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Work alongside subject matter experts, engineers, and product teams to define, design, produce, and maintain essential documentation for administrators.

• Collaborate with a globally distributed team and stakeholders across different time zones.

• Create clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation tailored for identity and access management administrators.

• Research and familiarize yourself with Ping Identity products and their foundational standards.

• Convert complex authorization concepts into straightforward documentation for administrators.

• Utilize AsciiDoc in a Docs-as-Code authoring and publishing setup using IntelliJ IDE and Git/GitHub.

• Adhere to the software development lifecycle to proactively identify and address documentation requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2-4+ years of experience in technical writing.

• Demonstrated experience documenting intricate software; familiarity with IAM or security products is highly preferred.

• Proficient in creating content in Markdown.

• Capable of managing multiple tickets concurrently while adhering to deadlines and quality standards.

• Experience with AI tools such as Gemini, Glean, and Claude Code.

• Ability to swiftly learn new features and complex software in early-stage development settings.

• Previous experience or exposure to software development.

• Familiarity with GitHub and repositories.

• Experience using Jira and Confluence or similar project management tools.

• Strong understanding of the needs and workflows of technical administrators.

• Preferred: experience with docs-as-code and AsciiDoc.

• Preferred: experience in writing AI agent skill files.

• Preferred: experience in building, installing, configuring, and debugging client and server software.

• Preferred: experience with Ping Identity or similar products.

• Preferred: experience writing for technical audiences, including system administrators and configuration managers.
