Technical Training Content Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as a vital contributor to the development, upkeep, and regular updates of Commerce product training and technical learning materials, ensuring they remain accurate and relevant with each platform update.

• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Professional Services to convert platform modifications into precise, engaging, and current learning content across all course formats.

• Create product and developer-focused video content — including scripting, narration, and screen captures — that addresses new feature launches, frequently asked questions, and essential platform functionalities to support the wider developer ecosystem.

• Continuously seek out and implement innovative learning methodologies and adult learning best practices to enhance engagement and instructional effectiveness.

• Utilize AI tools and emerging technologies to speed up content development, boost efficiency, and improve the learner experience.

• Provide tailored virtual and in-person training sessions for enterprise merchants, agency partners, and internal teams as required.

• Conduct comprehensive scoping discussions with merchants and partners to grasp business objectives and functional needs, offering expert recommendations on customized training solutions.

• Build and sustain robust working relationships with key stakeholders, including Product, Engineering, Professional Services, Account Management, and Marketing.

• Collaborate with external stakeholders, encompassing client partners, project managers, developers, technical partners, and executives within enterprise organizations.

• Oversee training action plans and manage the scheduling and administration of learning sessions before, during, and after delivery.

• Cultivate and maintain a deep understanding of Commerce platform features, the third-party ecosystem, and competitive advantages.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in the technology sector, specifically in technical writing, instructional design, product training, developer education, or related fields.

• Proficient knowledge of GitHub and local development practices; capable of running and modifying a site locally using popular frameworks like Next.js or Nuxt.js.

• Familiarity with ecommerce tools and applications, including SaaS and open-source storefronts, headless solutions, POS, PIM, OMS, ERP, and payment gateways.

• Strong technical foundation: comfortable with APIs and able to execute API requests using API documentation or a Postman collection; acquainted with front-end development tools and proficient in HTML/CSS/JS.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities; skilled at articulating complex technical subjects clearly to audiences of varying experience levels.

• Proactive and transparent communicator who is attuned to stakeholder needs across global, matrixed organizations.

• Strong organizational capabilities, with the ability to independently manage multiple content projects in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and rapidly evolving environment.

• Quick to learn new technologies and willing to seek assistance from others; a natural collaborator and sharer of knowledge.
